Konflikt ’47: When History Took a Weird Turn

Konflikt ’47 Introductory Set, including the game box, rulebooks, dice, tokens, ruined terrain pieces, and assembled infantry and armored soldiers in powered suits.

Picture this: it’s 1947. The war that should have ended years ago rages on, but something strange has happened. A rift has opened—quite literally—changing the world forever. From that rift came new technologies and new horrors: armored mechs thundering through European cities, reanimated soldiers marching in step, Tesla cannons crackling across the battlefield.

Welcome to Konflikt ’47, where history and science fiction collide in the weirdest, most wonderful way imaginable.

What Is Konflikt ’47?

Built on the same solid ruleset as Bolt Action, Konflikt ’47 is a tabletop miniatures wargame from Warlord Games and Clockwork Goblin that asks a simple question: What if World War II never really ended… and science went mad?

Players command small armies—squads of infantry, tanks, and strange “Rift-tech” creations—in tactical, dice-driven battles. Think of it as historical strategy with a healthy dash of mad science and monster-movie flair.

How It Plays

If you’ve ever played Bolt Action, you’ll feel right at home here. The turn order is randomized with dice, keeping both players on their toes. Combat feels grounded—rifles, mortars, tanks—but Rift-tech throws in just enough chaos to make every engagement unpredictable.

You don’t need a massive army or a six-foot table, either. Games are quick, cinematic, and beginner-friendly. Paint up a few squads, grab a rulebook, and you’re ready to fight for the future of a fractured world.

Factions of the Rift

  • United States: Heavy Grizzly walkers stomp across the battlefield, backed by jump infantry and experimental armor plating.
  • Germany: Field units of undead Totenkorps and horrific Nachtjäger—monstrous experiments that never should’ve existed.
  • Soviet Union: Psychic soldiers and hulking bear-like walkers wield terrifying power.
  • United Kingdom: Wield Tesla technology with electrifying results—lightning cannons, elite commandos, and clever tactics.
  • Japan & Italy: Late to the Rift-tech race but fiercely adaptable, blending speed, stealth, and old-world determination.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

Konflikt ’47 is a gem because it bridges two passions: history and imagination. It’s grounded enough for WWII buffs, yet creative enough for sci-fi and horror fans. And because it shares a core with Bolt Action, you can use many of the same miniatures—just add some Rift-tech flair and you’re ready to roll.

At The Dragon’s Hoard, we love games that reward both strategy and storytelling. Konflikt ’47 does both—every battle feels like a page torn from an alternate-history novel.
